Using a landline phone

The decline of landline phones goes hand in hand with the decrease in the number of phone numbers we have memorized.

Landline phones were the primary means of telephone communication, and every household had one. Typically, there was only one telephone per house, and you’d have to wait your turn to use it.

Now, each person has at least one smartphone, and we store all our contacts in these devices. We can call or, preferably, text them anytime we want.
