Although the Titanic was only located at the bottom of the ocean 75 years after it sank, many personal and structural items were still salvaged.

However, many items did not become publicized since some families and others considered it to be disrespectful and akin to grave-digging, as the Titanic can be seen as a grave for all its victims. Nevertheless, many of these items are currently in museums all over the world, or they belong to owners who have paid high amounts of money to possess these precious memories.

After such a tragedy happens, it is natural to wonder what initiatives could have been taken and what tools could have been used to prevent it from happening. One of the things most people wonder about is whether the Titanic crew could have spotted the iceberg earlier. 

Although it can’t be affirmed that this alone would have saved the ship, it turns out the Titanic crew did have binoculars on board. However, they were locked, and their key was not on the ship, as you will see in the next topic.
