Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X grew up in a conservative context in Atlanta, Georgia. He has talked about how he had to fight his own internalized homophobia in HBO’s ‘The Shop’ and how he was convinced he’d carry his sexuality as a secret throughout his life.

However, he is now one of the few openly gay rappers and celebrates and expresses his sexuality in all of his work. Lil Nas X has become an icon for the LGBTQ community and doesn’t back down from homophobes, using his social media platforms to express himself.
