The singer has been in a relationship with actor Brandon Flynn and is aligned with a few other celebrities identified as nonbinary. On Instagram, Sam Smith said, “I understand there will be many mistakes and misgendering, but all I ask is that you please, please try. I hope you can see me as I see myself now. Thank you.”
