06. The show was filmed in front of a live audience
It was very common for sitcoms in the 1990s and early 2000s to have live audiences or to add audio effects of live audiences laughing to their episodes.
Regarding Friends, some people suggest that the laughs were added after recording the episodes. However, the show was actually recorded in front of a live audience that consisted of up to 300 people who were fans of the show and could watch it being recorded before everyone else.
Sounds really cool, doesn’t it? However, the final episodes of each season didn’t include the live audience as a safety measure to prevent major plot details from being leaked.
