04. The opening credits sequence was not filmed in New York City

The classic and iconic opening for the TV show was not actually filmed in New York, much like most of the show itself.

It was all actually filmed on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, for logistical and budgetary reasons.

However, to capture the essence of New York City, the show’s creators and production team made efforts to create a realistic portrayal of the city, including using exterior shots of New York City landmarks and establishing shots to set the scene.
