So, the tread on your tires provides traction and helps prevent skidding.
Measuring the tread depth can indicate the remaining life of your tires. To do this, take a penny and insert it into the tread with the head imprinted on the coin facing downward.
If you can see the top of the head, it’s time to replace your tires. This indicates that the tread depth is below 2/32 of an inch, which is the minimum legal requirement in many places.
