Holi – India
Usually around March, when spring arrives, the ‘Festival of Colors’ takes over India. This is a celebration to mark the end of winter and the beginning of a new season.
Its significance is rooted in the Hindu religion, with its myths and legends about the triumph of good over evil, particularly the victory of Prahlada over the demoness Holika.
During this time, people come together to forgive. The symbolization of moving forward is done by applying colored powder to each other’s faces to wipe away old mistakes.
