Nyepi – Bali, Indonesia
This celebration is deeply rooted in Balinese Hindu philosophy.
Nyepi is known as the Day of Silence because the Balinese people observe a day of complete silence, meditation, and self-reflection. This includes refraining from work, entertainment, travel, and even the use of electricity.
The aim is to achieve a state of complete stillness and calmness. Cleansing rituals are performed to clean the environment from negative energies.
