The bullet that struck Brandon Lee was supposed to be a blank

Brandon Lee died tragically on the set of the movie ‘The Crow’ on March 31, 1993. The accident that resulted in the actor’s death occurred during the filming of a scene where Brandon Lee’s character was supposed to be shot by a gun. 

Naturally, the gun was supposed to be loaded with blanks, but it had a dummy bullet lodged in the barrel from a previous scene. When the gun was loaded with blanks for the fatal scene, the force generated from firing the blank cartridge propelled the lodged dummy bullet, striking Brandon Lee in the abdomen. 

The actor was rushed to the hospital but did not survive the injuries. Following this incident, security measures on filming sets were increased.
